The Challenge

A large manufacturer and military contractor of aerospace systems processed a high-volume of manual pilot seats and added a new electronic model requiring a separate set of safety standard testing. Adding a new product to their manufacturing flow presented test and validation challenges. Solubit’s objective was to design a fully automated test and validation system to meet those needs without impacting the current production flow.

Solubit’s Solution

Solubit’s system met these challenges by providing an end-of-production line test station for the new electronic seat to pass through. Our fully automated test was a non-contact simulation of the actions of a pilot controlling the seat motion, made a series of conformance measurements, and created a conformance report. Solubit created the complete requirements, design, and extensive documentation package.

Solubit’s contributions also included the selection of all electrical and mechanical hardware, electrical circuit design and layout, machine work, assembly, integration, and test.
